“I hope people learn to love one another a little more than they do, and if I can be any help in that respect, then I hope to be.”–Dolly Parton
I was so sad to hear about Dolly Parton’s passing yesterday. I’m not a big country music fan, but I had such respect for her, not only as a singer and songwriter, but as a philanthropist, a champion for children’s literacy, film and tv producer, a supporter of public health initiatives, and a voice for equality and respect for others. She was obviously very talented, but more importantly she cared about people and making the world a better place.
I hope we can all bring a little of Dolly’s spirit into our creativity work and in how we interact with each other.
Dolly Parton was a remarkable human being. The scope of her accomplishments and the breadth of her care for people and her utter lack of pretension are incomperable.
And she was able to respond, when asked how long it took to do her hair – I don’t know. I’m never there.
