Publishers Weekly has a great list of this year’s most anticipated book-to-film adaptations. Some of them I didn’t even know about, like Great Expectations. (Of course Masterpiece is also having a Dickensian spring, so maybe I was distracted.)
Obviously, the movie I’m most excited for is The Hunger Games. Really hope they do it well! I’m also really curious about The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Honestly, it’s not my favorite YA novel, but I’m intrigued about the adaptation. After all, Emma Watson was part of a really exciting adaptation already; maybe she’ll be good luck for this one, too.
What are you looking forward to seeing this year?
I’m looking forward to “The Great Gatsby” and of course, being the ultra nerd I am, “The Hobbit”! .
The Hobbit trailer looks SO good, but I’m terrified of the giant spiders that will probably be in the movie. So torn about this one.
Hobbit! I hope Hunger Games is good, but so far I haven’t been thrilled with the casting. She looks too old and the two boys just look way wrong to me. Hope I change my mind once I see it.
I’m feeling a little better about Jennifer Lawrence and the guy playing Peeta after seeing the trailer, but Gale still looks all wrong to me. I do like the minor character casting though, so I’m hopeful. The Hobbit trailer looks SO good, too, and obviously Jackson knows his stuff.
